This is a hands-on event starting seeds indoors and planting seeds in the garden.

Planting in a sheet mulch or hugelkultur is different than planting in a tilled soil. Many of our favorite plants need a longer growing season than our climate provides. Learn the techniques we have developed for planting cool season crops into the deep mulch and get tips on starting plants indoors.

The saying goes that there is no bad weather . . . only insufficient clothing. However, in the case of inclement weather we may limit the hands-on portion for safety and comfort.
